Where do I begin?  Many women share the same story of yo-yo dieting, and a lifetime of being overweight or struggling with body image.   I found through a lifetime of experience that it all starts with your mind.  Until you become happy with who you are or feel “right” with the world, you will continue to struggle so it all starts with a mental challenge and reaching the root of your poor eating habits or unhealthy lifestyle.  It has been a long journey for me and after 22 years serving corporate America, it was time to start serving others and reaching out to the community by sharing my story and my journey towards a healthier life.

Like many, I’ve witnessed how precious life can be and how quickly it can be stricken down with illness and fatigue, overcoming people and leading them to a life of sedentary living and unhappiness.  It can become a vicious cycle of poor health and inability to do anything about it due to the poor conditions we can allow ourselves to get into.  Well, IT’S NEVER TOO LATE!  Taking that first step towards an exercise program is hard but ANYONE can do it.  It just takes the proper mental motivation to do so.

I won’t bore you too much with my story, but I do hope that I can be an inspiration to others.  Using the excuse, “I’m too busy to take care of me”, I let myself reach a very unhealthy size but thought I was still invincible.  I knew the dangers of heart disease and had a family history of diabetes, heart disease, and high blood pressure but I pressed on with my unhealthy living.  Let me just say, it does catch up to you and no matter what your size, unhealthy eating and lack of exercise take it’s toll.

After a wake up call at the Doctors office, I decided that I couldn’t continue with my previous poor choices of diet and exercise and started biking my way to better health wishing I had taken better care of myself all along.   Currently 140 pounds lighter, I am continuing my journey towards better health and a longer life to enjoy with my family and friends.  I currently take no medications for high blood pressure or high cholesterol, and have went from a pre-diabetic condition to a healthy adult.  I’ve got more energy and a better outlook that was unimaginable to me at one time and I’m excited to be the owner of a women’s gym to share my story and hope to inspire other women to do the same.

Stop by the gym and see how easy it is to get started with a new lease on life!
